Dongguan Science & Technology Museum wants to become a state "AAAA" tourist attraction.
Dongguan Science & Technology Museum will officially submit an application to become an "AAAA" tourist resort rated by the Chinese Tourism Bureau. A successful application could become a springboard for the title of an "AAAAA" tourist resort in the future.

Mr. Li Zhiming, the Director of the Museum, made the remark on March 10 when addressing a press conference attended by 200 representatives from travelling services around the Pearl River Delta (PRD).
"We have firm support from Dongguan Government, and we are seeking help from the provincial government as well as the central government," Li said.
The museum, the largest science & technology museum in Guangdong Province and the third largest of this kind in mainland China, represents an investment of RMB 300 million and boasts a building area of 40 thousand sq. meters. Its main attractions include the first ball-screen cinema in South China, a brilliant 4-D cinema and other hi-tech productions featuring robot, industrial manufacturing and information technology.
According to Mr. Li, the application for the "AAAA" title is a move of the museum in response to Dongguan Government's "City Marketing" theory which has been developed to promote a positive image in the country. Further, it will add another place to Dongguan's relatively humble "AAAA" tourist attractions list which lists Songshan Lake, The Opium War Museum and Guanyin Mountain at the moment.
To make itself meet the state's "AAAA" standards, the museum is planning to invest RMB 2 million for introducing a musical band of fourth-generation robots and a "clever robot" which is able to fry eggs, Mr. Li said.
