National Coal Transaction Platform Commenced by SBC-MCC

A ground-breaking ceremony for China (Taiyuan) Coal Transaction Center was held on July 20, 2009. This project was undertaken by Shanghai Baoye Construction Corp., Ltd. (SBC-MCC) on an EPC basis. Chairman & Party Secretary Chen Ming and Vice General Manager Zhu Yonggui of SBC-MCC, as well as the leaders of the construction and supervision firms, were present at the event.
The Coal Transaction Center covers a floorage area of 51,400 m2, with a largest spanning steel structure of 87m. The building is located just to the north of Taiyuan Municipal Administration Center which is to be constructed soon.
China (Taiyuan) Coal Transaction Center is the very first national coal trading platform approved by the State Council. After completion, it will serve as an appropriate venue for the 6th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair, which will be hosted by Shanxi Provincial Government in 2011. Meanwhile it is also a perfect platform of Shanxi Province for wider opening-up, business & investment attraction and boosting of domestic demand. This Transaction Center will also play an essential role in the following aspects: (i) reform of the current coal distribution system of China; (ii) development of a modern coal distribution system; (iii) establishment of an open, fair and just market competition order; and (iv) promotion of the sustainable development of coal industry.
