Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE), with its goal to provide high-level international education and to become one of the leading finance and economics centers of higher education, is using full strength to push teaching, researching and service levels to a new level. Its main tasks lie in innovating international teaching methods, creating an international education brand and fostering a strong international teaching force.
Thirteen schools among the total sixteen have overseas students, 70- 75% of whom are pursuing relevant degrees, said Li Dinxin, Head of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office.
YUFE has adopted the 2+2 cooperation method where students study at an ASEAN School for their first two years before they start their major course of study at one of YUFE s schools. Overseas students say that this method helps to improve their Chinese level, thus fortifying their confidence in their later major study.
YUFE has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with over 80 universities and higher education institutions in over 30 countries, including Vietnam Thailand Korea Japan Australia Russia France the USA Canada etc. YUFE has also established many international programs for postgraduate study such as the postgraduate joint program with Zurich Applied Science University the MBA joint program with Hamline University the Sino-Australia Program of Double Master s Degrees and so forth.
In the meantime, to strengthen its teaching force, YUFE has brought in highly qualified talents and has sent instructors abroad for training to meet the needs of international education.
YUFE, in the process of university internationalization, has improved both its education level and teaching force as a whole. With solid steps forward, the brand effect of YUFE s international education is becoming more apparent.
