Another Course in ZSTU was Announced the National Bilingual Demonstration Course

Recently, Notice of Approving the Construction of Bilingual Demonstration Courses of 2010 jointly issued by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance has announced the national bilingual demonstration courses of 2010. On the list is The C-Programming Language instructed by Professor Wang Zhaoqing from the Department of Computer Technology Instruction one more national bilingual demonstration of ZSTU after Rudiments of Three-dimensional Garment Design instructed by Ji Xiaofen from the School of Fashion Design and Engineering was put on the list in 2009.

The bilingual The C-Programming Language is a rudimentary obligation course on computer technology open to non-computer majors in ZSTU since 2005. Guided by the advanced teaching concepts prioritizing algorithms of programming, self-learning and competition stimulated by goals, the course adopts bilingual teaching materials, instruction and interaction in class and highlights the combination between programming standards and design innovations, that between algorithms theories and project practices and that between class instructions and academic competitions. It aims to cultivate international engineers with a view of the world, the ability to innovate, good communications and programming skills.

The Ministry of Education has supported altogether 500 bilingual demonstration courses in batches since 2007 by granting each course 100,000 yuan of central financial aid. The construction of a bilingual demonstration course includes training bilingual teachers, inviting foreign teachers and experts to give lectures, inviting and compiling bilingual teaching materials, taking and innovating on bilingual teaching methods, making effective bilingual course wares and summing up bilingual teaching experience. ZSTU will seize the opportunity to better carry out and innovate on bilingual teaching methods and learn from the bilingual teaching experience so as to bring into full play the role of the national bilingual demonstration courses in improving the bilingual teaching and talent cultivation in ZSTU.
