On the evening of October 16th, the XJTLU 2010 Welcome Party was held at the Dushu Lake Theatre. Around 1,200 students and staff joined the party and watched the show.
Student bands, dancing groups and comedy clubs, etc. performed at the party. Rap singing, street dance, rock and R&B music showcased the colourful life of XJTLU students.
At the same time, traditional Chinese arts were also presented at the stage. A student band performing with traditional Chinese instruments brought the audience back to ancient Suzhou. The traditional, modern and exotic shows reflect the students' diversity and energy.
A surprise came out when Prof. Han Yunrui, who is about 70 years old, performed in a comedy with fashion internet buzz words. After the show, Prof. Han said:
Lots of these buzz words I actually used during my classes. I enjoy talk with my students and they give me fresh ideas and perspectives to think.
This year s welcome party made a great success as audience gave high recognitions to all performing teams.
