Jin Fuchun Education Development Fund launched

Zhou Wenfeng, the President of the Jin Fuchun Group Co. Limited, ZSTU s alumnus (class of 1982) donated 2.6 million RMB to start ZSTU Jin Fuchun Education Development Fund on the occasion of ZSTU s coming 113^th anniversary.

Zhou visited ZSTU to discuss the specifics of the fund on Oct 11^th and was warmly received by President Qiu Songliang, Assistant Party Secretary Jin Jinru, Vice President Chen Jianyong, Secretary General of the Alumni Office, and other division and college leaders.

Jin delivered a speech at the meeting, expressing the gratitude to the Jin Fuchun Group for its long time support for ZSTU. She said Zhou s career achievements showcase his own intelligence and hard work and better interprets the University s motto of In Pursuit of Knowledge and Truth, Being Innovative and Enterprising . The Fund, according to Jin, shows Zhou s love and gratitude for his alma mater, and his great expectations of the students. Jin hoped that Zhou s philanthropic act would inspire more alumni to join in the development of ZSTU. She also wished Zhou would strengthen the cooperation with the University and that the Jin Fuchu Group would achieve greater success in the future.

Zhou noted that it was both his big wish and obligation as an alumnus to contribute to the school s development. Material abundance and spiritual richness are two different propositions. Only by returning the wealth to the society can a harmonious development path be achieved. Zhou extended his gratitude to ZSTU for the training and nurturing. He also expressed his excitement at the school s recent rapid development. He expressed his willingness to step up the cooperation with ZSTU in research, teaching and production, so as to do more contribution to the school.

The two sides formally decided the amount of the fund, its donation forms, its purposes, and its duration. There will be six prizes and one contest, Jin Fuchun Best Teaching Award, Jin Fuchun Scholarship and Jin Fuchun Wedding Dress Design Contest, to name just a few. The duration will be five years. Agreement on the ZSTU-Jin Fuchun Education Development Fund was signed by Presdient Qiu and Zhou Wenfeng.
