(XJTLU, China - 12th October, 2010) On the morning of October 11th, Mr. Hongqiang Wang, Director of Unilever Discover Shanghai, along with Research Manager Zhang Qiqing, Division Manager Prof. Yuan Caigen, Global Project Leader Deng Yan visited Xi an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
Vice-President of XJTLU Prof. David Sadler met guests and gave them a brief introduction of the develop process of the university, teaching recourses and education model. Prof. Hongqiang Wang said that Unilever UK Research Centre and the University of Liverpool have achieved fruitful results in terms of co-operated laboratories, projects and researches. Prof. Wang also introduced that based on previous successful experience, Unilever Shanghai R&D Centre is planning to bring this cooperation pattern to China, and this visit to XJTLU is to seek potential cooperation opportunities.
It is known that Unilever Shanghai R&D Centre has already conducted extensive cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Peking University. Currently, Unilever is exploring high-level strategic cooperating partners through funding post-graduate and doctorate students from renowned universities, scientific research institutes. By cooperative researches on topics of mutual interest, Unilever is also hunting for potential talents.
Ending the talk, Prof. Wang added: XJTLU has a visionary look into the school-running mechanism, and all infrastructure constructions on campus are comprehensive and advanced. Unilever s cooperation with XJTLU will also provide the chance to share resources and expand cooperative opportunities within the Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation District; all these could ensure our confidence in future success.
