President of the University of Dayton Visits XJTLU

(XJTLU, China - Dec. 3rd) Dr. Daniel J. Curran, President of the University of Dayton, U.S., and Dr. Weiping Wang, Assistant to the President visited Xi an Jiaotong-Liverpool University on December, 3rd, 2010.

Mr. Ding Yimin, Vice President of XJTLU, hosted the guests and introduced the University s teaching, research, campus management and construction to the guests in detail. Vice President Ding said that as a newly-established international university, XJTLU expects to make some influential explorations in the field of higher education, that XJTLU warmly welcomes communications with other higher institutions to share their own successful experience, and that being a famous research-led university, Dayton University s management model and the teaching experience are very valuable for XJTLU to draw on.

President Daniel Curran highly complimented XJTLU s development in recent years. He said, XJTLU recruited 160 new students in 2006, while recruited 1700 new students in 2010, 10 times as many as 5 years ago. It is indeed a brilliant achievement. President Daniel Curran also expressed his expectation to cooperate with XJTLU in teaching, research and other fields in future.
