On Oct. 18, professor of German Humboldt University, Thomas Raiser's employment ceremony as the Honorary Professor of HUST was held in HUST. Dr. Lu Gang, the chairman of the university board attended the employment ceremony and awarded Professor Thomas Raiser the letter of appointment. Professor Thomas Raiser expressed his delight to visit HUST, as well as his great honor to be employed by our university. He reviewed with deep feeling his nearly 20 years of Sino-German exchanges progress with Chinese counterparts, and expressed his great willingness to keep on contributing to Sino-German friendship and the academic exchanges for jurisprudential circle between the two countries.

Born on Feb 20, 1935 in Stuttgart, German, Professor Thomas Raiser is now a professor of civil and commercial law and social law of German Humboldt University. He worked as a judge, and a member of the federation minister committee of judicial consultant for enterprise law. He has in-depth study in the field of civil law, commercial law, economic law, comparative law and social law, and was invited as expert advisor to participate in preparation works for important legislation for Chinese government.
