A research paper entitled Micro-Optical Sectioning Tomography to Obtain a High-Resolution Atlas of the Mouse Brain was published online in Science Vol. 330 on November 4. The paper is created by the research team headed by Prof Luo Qingming of Britton Chance Center for Biomedical Photonics, Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics.
Li Anan, Gong Hui, Zhang Bin, Wang Qingdi, Yan Cheng, Wu Jingpeng, Liu Qian, Zeng Shaoqun and Luo Qingming coauthor the paper. Li Anan, Gong Hui and Zhang Bin are the first contributors, and Prof Luo is the responsible author.
The paper is original and can arouse interest of the researchers on neural connections; This project is methods-focused and describes a 3D structural dataset of a Golgi-stained whole mouse brain at the neurite level that is currently the most clearly distinguishable 3D mouse brain dataset, reviewers say.
