Two Papers Awarded National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation

The National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations of Year 2010 were announced during these days. 2 doctoral dissertations from HUST were awarded excellent ones. Besides, another 10 papers were nominated.

One excellent dissertation is doctoral candidate Ouyang Zhigang s Threshold Co-integration and Its Application to China . Ouyang majors in applied economics of School of Economics and his paper is supervised by Professor Wang Shaoping. The other is written by doctoral candidate Dong Jianji, High Speed Optical Signal Processing Based on Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers and Optical Filters , guided by Professor Huang Dexiu. Dong studies optical engineering in College of Optoelectronic Science and Engineering. This is the first time for HUST and Hubei province to win such an honor in the two disciplines.

The selected papers involve 12 HUST first-level subjects, namely applied economics, education, Chinese language and literature, mechanical engineering, optical engineering, power engineering and engineering thermal physics, electrical engineering, electronic science and technology , environmental science and engineering, biomedical engineering, basic medicine, and public health and preventive medicine, covering five disciplines of economics, education, literature, engineering and medicine.
