VP of Univ of Erlangen-N rnberg Visited Tongji Hospital

On September 9, Mr. Wu Hua, Vice Director of Tongji Hospital, met with the delegation from University of Erlangen-N rnberg, Germany. The delegation included its VP for internatioanl collaboration, Dr. Christoph Korbmacher, and Dr. Xu Yan, Dean of UEN Confucius Institute.

Dr. Christoph Korbmacher once studied in Tongji Medical College in 1982 as an exchange student. He described his feeling upon the return after 28 years as something more than intimacy, and expressed his admiration for Wuhan s hypergrowth. Dr. Chirstoph Korbmacher said he hope this trip would establish the foundation for future collaboration with Tongji Hospital.

Dr. Wu Hua pointed out that Tongji Hospital has been bound up with Germany since its very beginning and he hoped there would be more collaboration and exchange between Tongji and German medical schools. After the meeting, the guests visited patient wards in the Comprehensive Medical Treatment Building, the Out-patient Building and statue of Dr. Paolun. Then Dr. Chistoph Korbmacher also made an academic report on the Effect of Na Channels in the Control of Blood Pressure in the conference room of the Internal Medicine Building for students in the hospital.
