On Dec. 4th, the 2010 Annual Conference on Economics of Education was held in HUST. This conference was sponsored by the Economics of Education Sub-commission of the Chinese Society Education, and was hosted by the School of Educational Research of HUST, inviting experts from countries and regions such as Japan, Ghana, Zambia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In the meeting, experts made a further discussion about the present situation of education investment and education cost.

Dr. Ouyang kang, vice chair of the University Board, pointed out three problems existing in China's Education System. First, how much on earth should the government input in education? Second, through what channel should the education budget be collected? Third, how can education resources be allocated in a fair way? Meanwhile, he hoped the participants could make suggestions about the development of HUST.

Within a period of three days, the conference was made up of four parts, including the meeting for teachers, the forum for postgraduates & the multidiscipline innovation forum for PHD students, etc.
