On 24th Nov, HUST student Su Xiongfeng, from College of Public Administration, won the men s long jump silver medal with a performance of 8.05m in Guangzhou Asian Games. Su is the first Asian Games medal winner who is trained by HUST coaches.
Besides, on the evening of 19th Nov, Zhao Yunlei, who is also from the College of Public Administration, together with Tian Qing won the gold medal in the event of women s double badminton final by defeating their rivals of Wang Xiaoli, from HUST School of Management and Yu Yang. Moreover, Zhao Yunlei also won another gold medal in women s team and a silver medal in mixed double.
The three students have won 2 gold and 3 silver medals in Guangzhou Asian Games, which is the best-ever record in HUST history.
