From March 10th to 14th, Prof. Flavio Menezes, Dean of the School of Economics of the UQ and Prof. Richard Brown visited the School of Economics, SDU, where they introduced 2+2 and 1+1 SDU-UQ Programs, and gave a lecture on the role of migrants remittances in providing social protection to labor sending households. Vice-president Fan Liming and teachers from the Finance Department met with the guests. Basic agreements were reached on teacher exchange, regular international conferences, and academic cooperation on the topic Migration from Rural to Urban Areas in China and the Role of Migrants Remittances in Providing Social Protection . In 2004, cooperative relationship was established between the School of Economics, SDU and its counterpart in the UQ, and was strengthened by joint education of undergraduate and graduate students, and exchange of scholars. In 2005, the Asia-Pacific Economic Research Center (APERC) was co-established by SDU and the UQ, focusing on Asia-Pacific finance and economic development. By Liang Lijuan |
