On April 25 the ceremony for the release of the second original album by NJU students Corner Missing was held at the Librairie Avant-Garde in Nanjing. The release ceremony attracted extensive attention from Nanjing s mainstream media and the fans of the first album Shadows of Autumn released six years ago.
The new album Corner Missing contains 13 original campus songs created and sung by a group of music talents from NJU. The leading song Li Sao gives forth a powerful sound mingled with a plaintive and lingering sound of a flute. Chen Xiao, the songwriter of Li Sao, is now a graduate student of our School of Liberal Arts. The album might remind us of our campus life Qingdao Road, Hankou Road, the big-plate chicken and Lily BBS, etc. The release of Corner Missing gives us an opportunity to cherish our memory of youth, said Chen Xiao.
Chen Mu, a music critic, commented that when those young college music talents got tired of the empty, poor-quality pop music, it was quite natural for them to create a beautiful, fashionable and sincere album of their own; therefore, colleges became cradles of excellent musicians.
