The Fiji Meteorological Service has now officially cancelled the gale warning issued yesterday afternoon. The tropical cyclone alert previously in place for the Southern Lau island group in the eastern part of the country has also been cancelled. Weather conditions are gradually improving, although heavy rain and stormy seas continue to prevail around western Fiji.
International flights are operating into Nadi International Airport, although there have been some cancellations and delays on domestic services. Inter-island ferry services have begun operation again and cruise companies too are gearing up to resume normal operations.
