Korean Air expects its first Airbus delivery next year, and has assured its passengers of plenty of legroom. The airline s fleet will have fewer seats than any operator to date, according to a report in eGlobal Travel Media. The carrier plans to outfit its jets with between 400-450 seats, whereas an A380 is typically configured with over 500-seats.
The first jet will be handed over in May2011; Korean Air has ordered a total of 10-aircraft, with delivery until 2014. With this order, Korean Air will become the sixth airline to fly the A380. The aircraft will be used for short-haul routes to major cities in Japan and East Asia, and on long-haul routes to Europe and the US from next August.
