This section forms part of the 1,381-kilometre Shanghai-Beijing line, which is the world s longest high-speed rail line and set to be operational in 2012.
Since launching its first high-speed rail service between Beijing and Tianjin, in 2008, China now has 7,055-kilometres of high-speed tracks in service; the longest of any country.
