The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that its Board of Governors has selected Tony Tyler in a unanimous decision to fill the post of IATA Director General and CEO. This will follow the retirement of the current incumbent, Giovanni Bisignani, next year. The Board will recommend Tyler s appointment to IATA s Annual General Meeting planned for June 06-08, 2011 in Cairo, Egypt.
Tyler is presently CEO of Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways. His duties as the Association s head are scheduled to commence July 01, 2011.
