China has loosened up its strict airspace regulations and opened its skies to private flights.
For years, the private air travel industry was burdened with China s restrictions on airspace, often needing a week s notice to get an approval for a private flight. But under the new regulations, approval can be obtained within a day or in some cases, just a few hours. Frank Lee, chairman, China Private Aviation Company, was quoted in TTR Weekly as having said that the Chinese government has finally understood the need for private aviation.
Aircraft manufacturers in China, as well as the world s major manufacturers such as Eurocopter, Bell, Robinson, Agusta and Cessna, are all jumping at the chance of entering this fast-growing market.
