"Labor shortage has been long existed after the Chinese New Year Holiday every year. The situation was worse this year due largely to factories' business orders being received earlier than the previous years," an unnamed official from the Bureau said, "the labor shortage will continue to ease as time goes by."
The official's comments are supported by statistics from Zhitong, Dongguan's largest jobs hunter. A total of 44 thousand jobs were provided by local employers during the last week of February and the first week of March, and attracted 56 thousand job seekers.
According to Zhitong, posts for technicians face labor shortages, however there seems to be an oversupply of job seekers for administrative posts.
