(XJTLU, China 18th October 2010) An international conference on advanced management sponsored and published by Journal of Science and Technology Policy in China and Xi an Jiaotong-Liverpool University was held in XJTLU from 15th to 17th October.
The 2010 International Conference on Advanced Management Perspectives (ICAMPA 2010) invited top academics from worldwide to discuss management perspectives in Asian context and in the post- (financial) crisis time.
On 15th October, a student open forum was conducted; Prof. Hanlin Li, Prof. Garry Bruton and Prof. David Bennett discussed the Future of China with students of XJTLU. The professors also expressed their hope to the students that to make contribution to China s future development.
Prof. Garry Bruton, of Neeley Entrepreneurship Programme, keynoted at the symposium opened on the following day. He appealed the academics to make more effort to influence the policy makers in sustainable development to improve the current world situation of poverty and pollution, especially in Asia and emerging economic countries.
Prof. Hanlin Li, of National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Taiwan, presented his work on management cases studies. This chair Professor of NCTU introduced his case study strategy in the example of Hovard Business Review. His innovative study strategy of cases studies and analysis is considered to be very useful for MBA and EMBA students.
Prof. Youmin Xi, the Executive President of XJTLU commented after Prof. Li s speech. He suggested that more cases about Asia and China could also be studied using this analytical system. Prof. Xi expressed his welcome to Prof. Li on his forthcoming joining of the university and his expectation on his system been learned by XJTLU students.
During the following themed symposiums and panel discussions, academics from U.S.A., UK, Thailand, etc. presented their recent research to the audience. Participants from universities and industry were also present at this conference.
