Invited by National University of Ireland Maynooth, a cooperative institution of JPU, a delegation of 18 people, headed by Wang Kaiquan,vice Secretary of Party Committee, conducted a four-day friendly visit there from November 21-24.
President John G. Hughes personally arranged and attended a welcome reception and dinner to all members of the delegation. At the welcome reception, Vice Secretary Wang Kaiquan delivered a warm speech, in which he thanked Estonia for the warm reception and thoughtful arrangements, and on behalf of President Pu Yuzhong of JPU, he invited John G. Hughes to visit our university in March next year. During these four days, the delegation members participated in five lectures and communicated extensively on various concerns, including Ireland s education system and school management framework, management system and mode of operation of their Exams Office, effectiveness of the Office of Special Education, job function of the International Office, the school system, and teaching evaluation process. The delegation was invited to visit the Maynooth campus, Special Education Offices, schools, sports facilities and student hostels. They also visited the 25 students from JPU and talked to them about their studying and living in Maynooth.
The delegation is the second one after the first one visitiing Ireland on December, 2008. During this short stay, the university s conceptions on school culture, management system, and teaching service impressed each member of the delegation.
