Mr. Cyrus Tang Visited NJU

On the morning of Oct. 27, Cyrus Tang, chairman of the board of the Cyrus Tang Foundation, visited NJU. He visited the National Microstructure Laboratory in prepration and listened to the work report of the laboratory in the company of Party Secretary Hong Yinxing, Ren Lijian, member of the standing committee of the Party committee of NJU and Director of the Party office, Zhu Qingbao, assistant to the president and Xing Dingyu, Director of the Laboratory.

In the laboratory area of the Cyrus Tang Building, Mr. Tang listened to the introduction of Prof. Zhu Yongyuan, Prof. Wang Zhenglin and Prof. Lu Yanqing from the department of physics on the work of their laboratories, respectively the Laboratory of Dielectric Superlattices, the Laboratory of Nano-Photonics and the Laboratory of Liquid Crystal Opto-Electronic Materials. After the introduction, Mr. Tang listened to the work report of Prof. Guo Zijian and Academican You Xiaozeng from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering on their latest development.

After the visit, Mr. Tang had a talk with the scholars. The professors expressed their thanks for his generous grant and great pleasure in seeing the improvement of the research equipment. They hoped that this would be a step toward a first-class university in the world.

Other attendants included the directors from various departments and the operating divisions.
