From Oct. 17 to 18, the 10th Fei Limin Law Forum the Realization and Legal Protection of Technological Innovation and Technology Transfer was held at the Johns-Hopkins University Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies of NJU. The forum was co-sponsored by the Law School of NJU, the University of Wisconsin, WARF, Pinsent Masons and the Provincial Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu.
Attendants of the forums included experts, professionals and professors at home and abroad, including the intellectual property managers from the Nanjing Automobile Group, Ford and Meishan Iron and Steel Group Cooperation. The topics to be discussed are: 1. the American experience and the problems in China: strategies for protecting intellectual property in globalization and their implementation; 2. the development of intellectual property laws in China and the United States: the Patent Reform Act of the United States in 2007 and the third edition of the Chinese intellectual property law; 3. the Bayh-Dole Act and the miracle of WARF: possible ways for China to promote technological innovation and technology transfer; 4. intellectual property and Jiangsu's innovation.
President Chen Jun gave a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the forum. Other guests who gave speeches included Xing Shengcai, Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Office, Yang Xuejin, Director of the Provincial Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu, and Prof. John Ohnesorge from the Center for East-Asian Laws of the University of Wisconsin.
