Chairman of Board of Foxconn Technology Group visited NJU

On the morning of Oct. 21, Terry Gou, Chairman of Board of Foxconn Technology Group, visited NJU. He was accompanied by Zhu Shanlu, member of Standing Committee of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and secretary of municipal Party committee of Nanjing, Chen Jun, member of the NPC Standing Committee and President of NJU, and Zhang Yibin, Deputy President of NJU and member of the standing committee of the Party committee of NJU.

At the National Laboratory of Microstructures in Nanjing, which is still in preparation, Gou listened to the introduction to the latest development in the Laboratory of Microstructures, the Laboratory of Super Latticed Materials and the material science by Prof. Xing Dingyu, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the National Laboratory of Microstructures in Nanjing, Prof. Zhu Shining, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and dean of the department of physics, and Prof. Lu Yanqing, Cheung Kong Scholar from the Department of the Material Science of NJU respectively.

At Meng Minwei Building, Gou visited the Micro Machining Center and the State Key Laboratory for Novel Software Technology at NJU. Later, he visited the Museum for the University History.

After the visit, Gou had a talk with President Chen and Deputy President Zhang. During the talk, Prof. Chen Daoxu, Dean of the Software Institute, introduced the development of the institute. Gou highly praised the work of the Laboratory of Super Latticed Materials and the Software Institute and expressed his hope for cooperation.

Other participants included directors from the President's Office, the Division of Science and Technology, the Development Committee and the Office of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs and Fan Shoushan, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor from Tsinghua University.
