The Third NJU Geology Day organized by the Department of Atmospheric Sciences began on March 23, the World Meteorological Day. With a theme of The Green Generation , the Geology Day will discuss problems such as the impact of extreme weather (including global warming) to the earth, environmental protection, raising people s environmental awareness and contributing to a green earth. Activities include lectures, debates, fun sports, protection of the Ming Dynasty Wall relic, guessing lantern riddles on geological knowledge, volleyball match of graduate students and a film festival.
The NJU Geology Day was first launched by four schools (the School of Earth Science and Engineering, the School of Geographic and Oceanographic Sciences, the Department of Atmospheric Sciences and the School of Environmental Studies), aiming at promoting the exchange between these schools and popularizing geological knowledge in NJU. This year s activities will focus on the environmental protection and green technologies.
