Celebration for 10th Anniversary of Graduate School of CQU

On the afternoon of Dec. 19, 2010, Chongqing University (CQU) held a grand celebration for the 10th anniversary of the Graduate School. More than 600 persons including governmental officers, personnel of twin universities and colleges, and leaders of Chongqing University took part in the celebration.
As an important base for training high-level talents, a Graduate School stands for the highest level of graduate education in China. In the last 10 years, the Graduate School of CQU, taking the education spirit of CQU, with innovation as the fundamental matter of the graduate education, has made many breakthroughs by implementing measures like Training Quality Project of Graduates , Innovation Plan of Graduates of the Ministry of Education and Innovation Practice Base of Graduates . The number of Level-1 disciplines authorized to grant Doctor s Degree has increased from 4 in the year 2000 to 16 at present. There have been 3 Level-1 national key disciplines and 12 Level-2 national key disciplines. CQU has been able to recruit graduates for a Master s Degree in 10 discipline categories, for a Doctor s Degree in 5 discipline categories and for a Master s Degree of a profession in 19 majors. The number of all kinds of graduates in the university has developed into more than 16,000 from over 3,000 in 2000. CQU has realized the leapfrog development of discipline construction and graduate education.
