Federal authorities in Australia plan to ban electronic tickets and automatic baggage check-ins as part of the new security measures to be implemented at Australian airports.
The rising criminal activity has raised concerns on how drug-runners use fake IDs to buy air tickets. Steve Hutchins, committee chairman senator, Australia, was quoted in eTravel Blackboard as having said that they were surprised at the rapid development of this innovation in air travel and the misuse of it by organised crime figures.
Barring non-passengers from entering terminals and compulsory passenger identity checks at domestic airports are also part of the new security measures that are being proposed.
