Thailand plans to bid to be the host of the 2020 World Expo.
Akapol Sorasuchart, president, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), was quoted in Travel Daily Asia as having said that Ayutthaya, Chon Buri and Chiang Mai are being considered as venues for the event. The Thai government is in search of an appropriate venue that would measure two square kilometers. The final decision is set to be made next month.
The 2010 World Expo was held at Shanghai and the next one will be in Milan in 2015.
