Virgin Blue has raised its credit card surcharges from AU$1 to AU$4.50. The increase was made effective late last month on domestic flights.
Tickets booked on Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue for international flights went up from AU$1 to AU$7. Colin Lippiatt , corporate communications manager, Virgin Blue, was quoted as having said that customers using Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Diners would pay the surcharge and added that he did not believe it would have a significant impact, according to a report in eTravel Blackboard.
Earlier in December Qantas too raised its credit card surcharges for international flights by 20%.
