ICA has more than 3000 members in more than 60 countries around the world, according to different themes, this annual meeting set a number of sub-venues in Nanyang Technological University, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and other places. Ngee Ann Polytechnic and School of Television and Journalism of CUC have had friendly and cooperative relations for many years. Teachers of School of Television and Journalism participated in the first ICA sub-forum meeting held in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, themed " Asian Media Literacy Education". Teachers and scholars from the United States, Germany, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Ngee Ann Polytechnic School, Communication University of China (CUC) and many other universities, research institutions, gathered to share their research results in terms of Asian media literacy education.
For the current penomenon, media literacy education mainly focuses on the youth, scholars suggested that media literacy is not only related to youth, but to all of us. We should not only attach importance to media violence, privacy and other issues, the negative effect, but also should show our concern about the development and use of new media. Professor Wang Xiaohong, Vice Professor Yang Fengjiao and Vice Professor Zhang Long actively involved in academic exchanges and discussions with scholars from various countries. Vice Professor Zheng Shiming, Vice Director of Liberal Arts Scientific Research Department of CUC, also attended the forum discussions.
In terms of the "Second Pioneering" concept of CUC, School of Television and Journalism made further research efforts, especially to encourage teachers to "go out" in academic exchanges, going to the United States, Britain, Australia, Finland and other countries to participate in international academic conferences and publish papers. These measures greatly broadened teachers international perspective and enhanced their ability to participate in international academic exchanges.
