On the morning of October 13th,2010, Professor Iiris Ruohoo from Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of University of Tempere, Finland, visited Communication University of China. President Assistant Liu Liqun attended the meeting and had a talk with her.
President Assistant Liu Liqun gave a warm welcome to Professor Iiris Ruoho s visit and introduced to her CUCs teaching and research , subject features, international exchanges and the development of International League of Higher Education in Media ,which was initiated by CUC. President Assistant Liu expressed that both universities would carry out more corporation in areas like teacher visits , student exchanges and academic communication, to improve both parties language and academic levels , thus setting up a platform for communication between the University of Tempere and CUC.
Professor Iiris Ruoho expressed her appreciation to the achievements that CUC has got in media education, language education and other areas. She presented the characteristics and latest research results of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of her university, hoping to carry out further coorporation in various fields with CUC. She proposed that both schools would strengthen cooperation further via joint application of international projects, joint students cultivating and exchange of visiting scholars.
Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department Liang Yan , Associate Professor of School of Television And Journalism Xu Peixi, Associate Researcher of Institute of Communication Research Fu Ning, professor Li Huiqun attended the meeting.
University of Tempere is a comprehensive university which includes about 16000 students and 700 foreign students. It has an extensive research field and its distinguishing subjects cover sociology, economics, administration and management, culture, science, personal health and welfare research. University of Tempere consists of School of Economics and Management, School of Education, School of Human Sciences, School of Information Science, School of Medicine and School of Social Sciences. All schools and language centers provide English courses.
