HKSAR DELEGATES OF THE 11TH NATIONAL PEOPLE'S CONGRESS VISITED SHANXI UNIVERSITY

In the afternoon of July 17, about 40 HKSAR delegates of the 11^th National People s Congress visited Shanxi University, accompanied by officials from Provincial People's Congress, Provincial Department of Education, and other related departments.

Accompanied by university leaders Guo Guichun, Li Zhongren, and Jia Suotang, the delegates visited the Showroom of University History, and the Institute of Optoelectronics. In the showroom they got a comprehensive understanding of the university s development and her history. In the Institute of Optoelectronics, from academician Peng Kunchi s introduction, they got a detailed knowledge about the construction course of the State Key Laboratory of Quantum Optics and Quantum Optics Devices, about its research direction, future goals, and personnel training.

The delegates fully affirmed what Shanxi University has achieved in teaching and scientific research. In a joyful atmosphere, one delegate wrote the words "revitalizing the nation through science and education" as a memento.
