Narvik University College Delegation Visiting ZSTU

On Apr. 27, Mr. Tor-Arne Jenssen, director of the International Cooperation Office of Narvik University College, and professor Wei Deng Solvang of Industrial Engineering visited ZSTU.

Zhejiang and North Norway are sister provinces, and the delegation aims to further the bilateral higher education understanding between the two provinces, and pursue bilateral cooperation and exchanges. The relevant personnel in charge from our International Exchange & Cooperation Division received the delegation, and held a cordial and friendly talk in Conference Room 312 of the administration building.

Director of our International Exchange & Cooperation Division briefly introduced the foreign student education. Tor-Arne Jenssen introduced the teaching and internationalized education of Narvik University College. Then, the both parties held an extensive and insight exploration into the student exchange, visiting scholar and else issues they were interested in, and expressed their urgent will to sign frame-style inter-university cooperation agreement, undertake essential inter-university exchange and cooperation. The both parties agreed that they could begin their cooperation with more operable post-graduate education, then launch practical inter-university cooperation, for instance, our graduates go to Narvik University College for post-graduate study, and the post-graduates of Narvik University College come to ZSTU for exchange study for a semester, etc.

After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to out campus and accommodation for foreign students.

Narvik University College is one of the 26 national Norway higher education institutions. Because Norway boasts a little population, currently only 1400 students are on campus, among whom 15% are overseas students. All undergraduate majorities and most of the post-graduate majorities are taught in Norwegian, but industrial engineering, industrial design, computer science, electronic engineering and satellite engineering are taught in English. There is no tuition fee for Norway higher education.
