Adidas Global Shared-Service Centre visits XJTLU

(XJTLU, China-21st July 2010) The senior management team of Adidas Global Shared-Service Centre visited XJTLU in company with officials of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Ernst & Young Global. The Vice-President of XJTLU, Prof. Yang Minzhu welcomed the honoured guests and hosted the symposium together with Ms Sun Yanyan, Deputy Director of SIP Administrative Committee and representatives from SIP Human Resources Development Co., Ltd (SIPHRD) and universities of Dushu Lake Higher Education Town.

Vice-President of XJTLU Prof. Yang addressed a speech briefly introducing XJTLU to Mr Udo Hasenbach, Chief Manager of Adidas Global Shared-Service Centre, Project Manager Ms Olga Novikova, Asia-Pacific Area Manager Ms Melissa Cheung and others. The guests were impressed by XJTLU s practice on integrating cultures and education resources from worldwide and exploring new pattern for higher education of China.

They shares opinions on university s mission and the teaching quality control system, and expressed great interest on university s unique education model of cultivating potential senior technique and management talents. Official from SIPHRD also presented the current status of SIP talent pool, undergraduate employment, and starting salary etc.

The Global Shared-Service Centre is an important organisation for Adidas to collect and consolidate information from worldwide and provide consulting support to the Headquarter. The purpose of this visit to SIP and HET is to give reference for the management team to make further decision on location choosing for the Centre in China.

The meeting lasted for about an hour, and the guests gave high recognitions on XJTLU s faculty resources and international education model. Representatives from Department of Mathematics, Department of Business, Economic & Management, English Language Centre, Brand and Marketing Office, Student Admissions and Career Development Office and Chinese Language and Culture Centre were also present.
