(XJTLU, China-28st July 2010)Invited by Technology Transfer Centre of XJTLU, Sino-UK Science Bridge Bio-Medic Programme Manager Mr Paul Thorning, of Bradford University and Dr Shao Qun visited the university and discussed about the potential opportunities to start cooperation projects in Suzhou.
The guests briefly introduced the programme and learned related policies of Suzhou supporting health caring industry and related innovatives of technology and projects. The guests, together with representatives of Technology Transfer Centre of XJTLU, Suzhou Science Bureau, SIP BioBay discussed about the possibilities of starting Open-Innovative programmes in Bio-Medic and Health industry, and importing Spin-In Scientific programmes and build up innovative platform.

The Bio-Science Department of XJTLU has strengths of teaching and researching, and Suzhou provides a solid foundation for Bio-Medic industry. If these advantages can be integrated through an international cooperative technology service platform of China-UK Science Bridge, the global technical resources can be employed to provide services for the economic and social development of Suzhou city.
The Bio-Medic Programme of Sino-UK Science Bridge is a joint technology innovation platform supporting by Bradford University, UK, Shanghai Medical Research Institute of China Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Peking University and other reputated academic organisations. The China-UK Science Bridge is a Sino-Europe Sci-tec cooperation project funding by China Ministry of Sciences and Technology and Research Committee of UK. Through China-UK Science Bridge, scientists of China and UK will join together to research on treatment methods of tumour, cancer, diabetes, heart diseases and other major diseases.
