(XJTLU, China 17th Dec.) The IBM Business Challenge has finished first round of competitions since this October. The University received congratulations from UoL that 40 students of XJTLU 2+2 program have processed into the semi-final.

The IBM Universities Business Challenge is a premier inter-university business competition, established in 1998. The Challenge is conducted in teams, with no more than 5 members of each team. The participants are judged by their development strategy designed for model companies.

2010 is one of the most fiercely contested years, seeing more than 1,400 students enter from over 75 top universities around the world. 13 out of 17 UoL teams (majorly consisting of XJTLU 2+2 students) have successfully entered the semi-final with a processing rate of 76%, higher than the UK national average ratio, 51%.

The semi-final will be held during February and March in 2011, P&G, Citigroup Inc., RBS and more business giant companies will be present; IBM UK will chair the final.

In previous years, university teams from Cambridge, Warwick and Imperial College have won the championship.
