VisitBritain to target key cities

VisitBritain has released their plan of increasing their marketing budget in 21 markets in up to 24 cities.

According to a report in eTravel Blackboard, VisitBritain is shifting GBP10.5-million in 2011-2012 to GBP12.9-million by 2014-2015 to boost its presence in key markets in the US, Australia, as well as cities in Europe and Middle East. The cities and countries that were chosen include New York, Los Angeles, Canada, Brazil, Berlin, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Australia, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Japan, and Dubai.

The tourism group worked with Oxford Economics to make a well-informed decision on selecting the markets that they will pursue. They based their decision on the opportunities presented by each market as well as the ability to influence travel decisions.
