On the afternoon of July 5th, 2010, Vice President Hu Zhengrong met with Professor Guy Stuckey, director of Communication Department of University of Sunderland,England. Vice President Hu Zhengrong expressed his welcome for Professor Guy Stuckey s visit. He pointed out that the broadcasting and television education of University of Sunderland is very distinctive which emphasizes students practical abilities on the foundation of their academic education; the two universities can carry on an extensive cooperation on students and teachers intercommunication. Then the two sides discussed about educational ideas, scientific cooperation and teacher exchanges on subject areas such as broadcasting, television, documentary film and so on. Besides, the two sides discussed about the 3+1 , 1+3 cooperative training program, student exchange mode and other matters.
President Assistant Liu Liqun, Party Committee Secretary of School of Television and Journalism Lei Yuejie, Vice Dean He Suliu; Dean of International School Zhang Lili, Vice Dean Peng Jun; Vice Dean of School of Foreign Studies Wu Minsu and Vice Director of International Communication and Cooperation Department Liang Yan attended the meeting.
Vice President Hu Zhengrong and Professor Lei Yuejie once visited University of Sunderland on invitation in 2009. They had a talk with, Vice President Fred of University of Sunderland, learnt about their teaching and scientific research on media and culture studies. Associate Professor Meng Wei of School of Literature had stayed at University of Sunderland as a visiting scholar for a year in 2008.
