Vice-President Hu Zhengrong Met with the Government Delegation from Andalusia ,Spain

On the morning of July 7th, 2010, Vice-President Hu Zhengrong met with Antonio Maldonado, the representative of Andalusia government, Spain, who paid a visit to Communication University of China (CUC).

Vice-President Hu introduced the history and basic conditions of CUC to Antonio Maldonado, highlighting the construction and development of Journalism and Communication, Art Studies, Radio and Television Engineering, New Media and Cultural Creativity Industry and so on. President Hu extended warm welcome to the suggestion that the government of Andalusia established a Spain culture center in CUC. The two sides also made a further discussion on the exchange and cooperation of other fields.
Mr. Maldonado expressed that Andalusia government paid great attention on Spanish talents training and China Spain cultural exchanges . Except for the cooperative establishment of Spain culture center, Andalusia government would like to be the bridge to build the interaction platform for CUC and eight universities in Andalusia in order to enhance students and teachers exchanges as well as scientific research cooperation and promote the cultural and academic exchanges between Andalusia and CUC.
Vice-Dean of School of Foreign Studies Wu Minsu, Spanish teacher Song Hailian, Vice Dean of International Exchange and Cooperation Department Liang Yan and others attended the meeting.

Andalusia is located in the southernmost part of Europe, whose southernmost tip is only 17 nautical miles away from Africa. It s the bridge between Africa and Europe and the intersection of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Its unique geographical position makes it absorb a variety of different cultures in its long history. As the second largest autonomous community in Spain, Andalusia s territorial area is larger than Belgium s, the Netherlands , Denmark s, Austria s or Switzerland s. Andalusia is divided into eight provinces: Almeria, Granada, Malaga, Cadiz, Cordoba, Seville, Ja n and Huelva. There re more than 7 million people who live in Andalusia, mainly in several major cities, such as Seville, Malaga, Granada and Cordoba.
