OPENING CEREMONY OF CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE SUMMER PROGRAM FROM ARMENIA HELD

On the morning of July 22, the opening ceremony of the first Confucius Institute Summer Program organized by our university was held at the meeting room on the second floor of the expert building. The topic of this summer program is A Cultural Trip to Shanxi . Participants of the ceremony include people from Department of Education of our province and from Division of Foreign Affairs of our university who are in charge of the related affairs and 19 students from Confucius Institute of Armenia. The ceremony was presided over by Yu Guodong, Division Chief of Division of Foreign Affairs of our university.

Yan Lixiang, deputy division chief of Division of Foreign Affairs of Department of Education of our province and Liang Jiye, vice president of our university were present at the ceremony. They extended a warm welcome to the students who had come all the way from Armenia on behalf of Department of Education of our province and of our university, hoping they would further understand our long history and splendid culture through this program and meanwhile strengthen the friendship between China and Armenia. When addressing the ceremony, vice president Liang Jiye briefly introduced our history of running the university, our discipline construction and foreign exchange work and also reviewed the establishment of Confucius Institute in Yerevan State Linguistic University after V.Brusov(YSLU) of Armenia. Balayan, head of Confucius Institute of YSLU expressed his earnest gratitude for this program, hoping that we would deepen our feelings for each other through this program and make more contributions to promoting our mutual cultural communication and cooperation in our future careers and study.

It is reported that in this program, our university arranged lectures and appreciation activities concerning the Chinese language, culture, art, music, wushu, movies, etc. Other activities like visiting historic sites were also arranged.
