ZSTU s student granted special award of National Scholarship

According to the Special Evaluation Committee for 2010 National Scholarship, Xu Teng, student of ZSTU s School of Fashion Design & Engineering, was selected as one of the ten students in ZhejiangProvince who were granted the Special Award of the National Scholarship.

Conducted by Zhejiang Provincial Education Department, the Special Evaluation for the National Scholarship is intended to promote the evaluation of National Scholarship and to establish model students who strive for excellence in the province. The Evaluation is carried out among all the students of higher education institutions in the province and is aimed to stimulate students to mould themselves to be eligible and reliable for the course of socialist construction by referring to the model students. According to the evaluation process, ten candidates who were selected through margin-selection were granted with the special award of the National Scholarship subsequent to the process of recommendation by the higher education institutions, preliminary evaluation by experts, open evaluation and approval by the Appraisal Committee.

Xu, a Straight-A student, has been granted the First Scholarship of Model Students in the three consecutive years. Xu ranks first in the overall evaluation and wins such titles as Model Student , Excellent Student Cadre and Excellent Communist Youth League Member at ZSTU. She was also granted the National Scholarship in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Apart from that, Xu was interviewed and reported by domestic and overseas noted media for her devotion to the voluntary work in such activities as Shanghai World Expos, Hangzhou Leisure Expos and the Westlake International Fire Display Show.
