Chief Inspector of French Ministry of Finance comes toCommunication University of China to deliver a lecture

On the afternoon of May 13th, Mr. Alfred Gilder, the Chief Inspector of French Ministry of Finance, was invited by School of Media Management to deliver a lecture to some of the teachers and students at classroom B403 in No.48 teaching building. Dean Li Huailiang, School of Media Management, hosted the lecture.

Mr. Alfred Gilder introduced the economic development of France based on French Post-industrial Era, economic globalization, technological innovation and the change of pattern in Europe. He said the recent economic crisis had greatly affected the economy of France, including high cost of social security, soaring deficit of public finance and weak increase in economy as well as public fear that had been caused by above-mentioned factors. Therefore, some policies had been carried out and some actions had been taken in time by the French government to face the situation.
Mr. Alfred Gilder pointed that just like China, France has abundant culture formed by its long-standing history including paintings, music and food. He also said that the art market of France is running well and the modern art and postmodern art is prevailing simultaneously at present and the French government has attached great importance to the communication between France and China. Mr. Alfred Gilder also presented his point of view on uploading and downloading music by cell phone and computer.
When it came to the media development, Mr. Alfred Gilder considered that the traditional media faced serious challenges as network and new media has posed a threat on newspaper and television. At the same time, the finance crisis has had bad effect on media industry.
After the lecture, Mr. Alfred Gilder continued to talk on a wide range of topics with the teachers and students present at the lecture and answered their questions.
